Privacy Policy
Saddle Atlas respects your privacy and processes personal data only where necessary to operate this website and respond to enquiries.
Contact enquiries and contact formIf you contact us through the contact form on this website or by e-mail, we process the details you provide (name, e-mail address, message) in order to answer your enquiry. The form sets no cookies and embeds no third-party services. The message is forwarded to us by e-mail and is not stored on the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, for general enquiries our legitimate interest in answering (lit. f). We delete the enquiry once it has been answered and no statutory retention duty applies.
Website hosting
This website is hosted by STRATO. Technical data such as IP addresses and server log information may be processed when you visit the website.
Server log filesWhen you visit this website the server automatically records data that your browser transmits, namely IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer address and browser and operating system type. We use it for secure and stable operation and for error analysis. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the website securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after the hosting provider’s retention period, as a rule after a few days and at the latest after 30 days. They are not combined with other data.
Legal basesWe process personal data on the following bases of the GDPR. Consent, Art. 6(1)(a), for non-essential cookies and scripts that you grant in the consent banner and can withdraw at any time. Contract and pre-contractual measures, Art. 6(1)(b), when you send us an enquiry. Legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c), for example to document consent. Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f), for the secure operation of the website, server log files and reach measurement without cookies.
Cookies and consent management
We ask for your consent to non-essential cookies with a consent banner provided by the Complianz plugin, which runs entirely on our own server; no data is sent to the plugin maker or any other third party. Scripts that require consent are only loaded after you agree; at present this website uses none. Your choice is stored in first-party cookies named cmplz_* for up to 365 days and can be changed or withdrawn at any time via the “Manage consent” button shown at the bottom right of every page. Legal basis for storing your choice: our legal obligation to document consent and our legitimate interest in operating the banner (Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR).
Web analytics: Matomo (self-hosted, without cookies)
We measure the use of this website with Matomo, open-source analytics software that runs on our own server. It sets no cookies. The last byte of your IP address is removed before anything is stored, and user identifiers are pseudonymised. Data recorded: the shortened IP address, pages viewed, referring page, browser and device type, approximate region derived from the shortened IP, and the time of the visit. The data stays on our server and is not passed to third parties; raw visit data is deleted automatically after 180 days, and only aggregated statistics are kept beyond that. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); because no cookies are set and the data is anonymised, no consent is required.
FontsThe typefaces used on this website (Barlow Condensed, Fraunces, DM Sans) are stored on and delivered from our own server. No connection to Google or other font providers is made for this.
External content
Our website may contain links to or embedded content from third-party services such as Instagram or video platforms. These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.
Partner links and booking partnersSome links on this website lead to providers of day rides and riding holidays, currently Viator and GetYourGuide. They are partner links and are marked as Ad. If you book through such a link we may receive a commission, the price does not change for you. With the click you leave our website and the privacy policy of that provider applies. We do not set advertising cookies of the partners on our own website.
Your rights
Under applicable data protection law, you have the right to request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data and, where applicable, to object to or restrict its processing.
Right to lodge a complaintYou have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us as an operator based in Spain is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD, www.aepd.es).
