Horse riding in Norway

In Norway you ride from the Arctic to the fjords. Rides are offered near Tromsø, Bodø, Alta and in the Lofoten, plus in Heidal and in Møre og Romsdal between Ålesund, Molde and Åndalsnes. The Lofoten lie above the Arctic Circle and combine mountains, deep fjords and long beaches. In Tromsø the polar night begins at the end of November, and the midnight sun runs from the end of May to the end of July. In the coastal regions around Bodø and the Lofoten, winter temperatures typically range between 5 and minus 5 degrees. According to Visit Norway, northern lights are possible from late September to late March, and there is no guarantee. As a planning hint: winter rides call for layered clothing, while summer brings long days. Before booking, ask the provider about riding level, horse breed, duration, start time and equipment, and how they handle cold or snow.
