Horse riding in Finland

In Finland you ride in Lapland, near Levi and Rovaniemi. In Levi, riding takes place all year on Finn horses and Icelandic horses, with forest and hill rides of one to five hours in summer and horse sleigh rides in winter. Near Rovaniemi there are rides at walking pace under the midnight sun from May to August. Winter in Lapland lasts around 200 days, the January average in Rovaniemi is about minus 10 degrees, and July reaches 18.5 degrees. The polar night begins in November, and autumn colour from late August. As a planning hint: if you want long days and mild warmth, travel in summer, or from late August for autumn colour. According to Visit Finland, the offers suit beginners and experienced riders. Ask the provider about season, duration, pace, clothing and darkness.
