Horse riding in Albania

Albania consists of mountains, hills, river valleys and small coastal plains. Rides take place around Saranda on the coast and near Gjirokastra in the Drino valley, an old town that is part of a UNESCO World Heritage property. The climate is Mediterranean: summers are hot, clear and dry, winters are cool, cloudy and wet, and rain falls mainly in autumn and winter. As a planning hint: if you want to avoid heat, look at spring and early autumn, and in high summer the time of day decides. The terrain between coast and uplands suits you if you like varied routes and do not focus on speed. Before booking, ask the provider about riding level, terrain, duration, start time and group size, and have the planned route described to you.
